Hospital Saturday Fund donate £14,000 to SBH Scotland

The Hospital Saturday Fund donated grants to twenty-five Scottish charities at a special reception hosted at Glasgow City Chambers on 29 February 2024. In total, £110,000 was donated to the charities at the event, which was hosted by The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councilor Jacqueline McLaren.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, received a grant to fund a specialist nurse in the West of Scotland and other charities such as Clan Cancer Support received grants which will be used to fund support such as complementary therapy sessions. 

Brave Mum's Prove Sky's the Limit for Charity Supporting their Children

Abby skydiving through the blue sky, clouds belowTwo brave women from different ends of the country chose to take to the skies in an adrenaline fuelled skydive to raise crucial funds for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland who have provided dedicated support to their families.

Abby McDonald (pictured right) from Stonehaven and Jade Montgomery (pictured below) from Hamilton kick-started the new year by taking on a tandem freefall parachute jump at Strathallan Airfield in Perth and Kinross and raising over £3,000 in the process. From an exhilarating 10,000ft in the sky and at speeds of up to 120mph, the unforgettable experience was inspired by the support for their respective daughter and son.

Amazing Burns Night raises £85,000 for SBH Scotland

Scotland’s corporate community was out in force at Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland’s annual “A Question of Burns” supper, now in its 32nd year, raising £85,000 for the specialist charity.

420 guests gathered at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on the 25 January to celebrate the life and work of the famous Scottish Bard with an evening of poetry, performances and a traditional Burns feast.

Organised by Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland, the lively celebration paid homage to the great Scottish bard Robert Burns, while raising awareness for the charity’s vital cause.

Kick-starting the Burns Night celebrations, students from Theatre College of Scotland performed a medley of traditional Scottish songs including Caledonia and Flower of Scotland to delighted onlookers whilst SBH Scotland representatives collected donations from generous shoppers. Families who are supported by the specialist charity were also in attendance to join in the fun.

Gordon Ramsay's Festive Fundraiser Returns to Edinburgh

The fundraiser launched during the 2022 festive season, coinciding with the launch of Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger restaurant in the St James Quarter. They raised an incredible £15,642 as a result which Gordon and Tana Ramsay then generously matched to give the charity an extra special funds boost.  

SBH Scotland host first Bollywood Fundraiser in Glasgow

BollyFeat Dancers dancingSpina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland (SBH Scotland), treated 150 guests to their very first Bollywood Bash event at The Corinthian in Glasgow, on Friday 17 November, raising £7,000.

The event united the vibrancy of Bollywood with a twist on the traditional Christmas Night Out as well as fundraising for a worthy cause. Guests were treated to a delicious three course traditional Indian meal while henna artists were on hand to immerse guests into the rich cultural heritage of India.

Cumbernauld Farmers Market is coming this Saturday

From 10 am to 2 pm, the market promises to be a spectacular event that will celebrate the spirit of the local community while supporting a noble cause.

The Cumbernauld Farmers Market is an exciting initiative from local specialist charity Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland with support from Tesco Craigmarloch and their Community Champion, Doreen Reid. It aims to engage with the community and encourage residents to shop locally. With only a few months until Christmas – it also gives the perfect excuse to start your festive shopping!

Corporate Golf Day Tees Off with Great Success

A gleeful golfer exclaims happiness at a successful golf shotSBH Scotland is delighted to announce the tremendous success of its Annual Corporate Golf Day, held on Thursday, August 31st at the prestigious Dundonald Links in Ayrshire. This year's event raised an astonishing £13,000, making it a day of triumph both on and off the course.

Dundonald Links was a fantastic choice for the day; a superb course, state-of-the-art clubhouse, and incredibly friendly and helpful staff, all provided the perfect backdrop for this exceptional day of golf. Participants and guests alike have unanimously praised the event, dubbing it "SBH Scotland’s best golf day yet."
