Health Check Clinic

Health and Wellbeing Nurse

SBH Scotland offer health and wellness clinics for all adults with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus in Scotland. The aim of these health checks are to support you in developing a wide range of self-management strategies.

The clinics we offer are simple, effective, confidential and are carried out by our nurse specialist in a fully equipped treatment room at our Centre, The Dan Young Building, in Cumbernauld.

Potential problems can often be picked up and dealt with to prevent more serious health problems developing. And another part of the health check can also focus on your emotional wellbeing. Many adults who are living with a long term health condition can feel isolated or low in mood and are disinclined to go out or be involved in any social activities. We want you to talk to us about how you’re feeling so we can also support you.

We are eager to have an ongoing engagement with you so at the end of each appointment we’ll look at your health objectives and ways in which you can achieve set goals.

Don't live locally but would like a health check? Please call us to discuss, you don’t have to come to the Centre - Skype and telephone appointments are available. We’re here to make things as easy as possible for you.

If you are interested in having a health check or would like more information please call us on 03455 211 300 or email
