Keep the kids busy

During Covid-19 lockdown we've been bombarded with information on how to keep our families safe and we've been tagged in thousands of posts on keeping kids entertained and home-schooled! SBH Scotland know this current time is not easy so we've put together our top picks to keep your kids busy! We'll keep updating as lockdown continues but always remember - you're doing great!

Coronavirus. A Book for Children - Nosy Crow books have kindly made this Axel Scheffler illustrated book free to download.

Twinkl - The trusted home of teacher created planning materials and teaching resources. Currently offering a free month to their upgraded package once you register.

Online Safety - Online safety is so important at all times. Have a look at SBH Scotlnd's dedicated page about Online Safety, featuring parents Links to NSPCC digital resources.

BBC Bitesize - For help with your homework, revision and learning. Find free videos, step-by-step guides, activities and quizzes by level and subject. During this period of home schooling, there's even daily classes for children of all ages.

Kerrycam Dancercise - Exercise is so important! That's why our support Worker, Kerry, has produced a series of short films featuring exercise for those with limited mobility. Different levels are provided for each exercise so all the members in your family can get involved. Subscribe to our YouTube Channel now to be kept up to date when new dancercise, and other films, are added.

Playdough Recipe - Most recipes for playdough we've come across need Cream of Tartare and that's not something everyone has, especially in lockdown! This BBC recipe manages to make playdough without that ingredient.

Delve into the wizarding world of Harry Potter - Plenty of activities and resources for the Harry Potter fans out there.

Audible - For as long as schools are closed, Audible is FREE. Children everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids. All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.Explore the collection, select a title and start listening.

Cosmic Kids Yoga - Offering yoga, mindfulness and relaxation designed specially for kids aged 3+.

Activity Village - Thousands of colouring pages, kids crafts, educational resources, puzzles, printables and much more!

Have A Go - Finding ways to boost children's development through movement, communication and play. At the same time we hope to enrich the connections and enjoyment between parent/carers and their child. SBH Scotland Films and downloads.
