We're talking about improving wellness with the app, but what is wellness?
Wellness is defined as the state of being healthy. Wellness is something that we should strive towards on a daily basis in order to keep in good health. This can be achieved by taking part in daily activities, changing daily habits or focusing on areas which need improvement in your life. It's not just about your physical health but also your mental wellbeing as well.
It's time to look after you.
When thinking about your own health, it's worth knowing the different types of wellness you can look at:
- Spiritual Wellness: This is when you create meaningful values to help you find your life purpose e.g., religion.
- Physical Wellness: This is when you take part in exercise and eat healthy foods. Having self-management skills can also help you to improve your life with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.
- Intellectual Wellness: This aims to improve your mental health and engage your mind. This could be through reading, hobbies, art, the list goes on – it’s all about what you enjoy doing!
- Emotional Wellness: This is when you can respond well to emotional situations and can cope with sad feelings.
- Social Wellness: This aims to create strong relationships with your friends and family.
